Welcome back to my blog.
I’m not very familiar with work policies and practices of other countries but for most Nigerian organizations without strict dress codes, it is common practice to see people wear ankara to the office mostly only fridays. So you probably imagining how odd it would look if you decided to wear ankara to the office any other work day.
Ankara is a bold and bright fabric with lots of prints and patterns which Is why I think we find it tricky incorporating them into everyday wardrobe staples. Not to worry, with a little tweak here and there, you can make out of it an exciting outfit like what I’m wearing.
Making this outfit, I wanted something corporate that can be worn to the office or to a business meeting so I combined ankara with a smart botton down shirt and made it into a kneel length gathered dress, then finished it by sewing around the shirt’s belly area oval like shape patterns cut out from the ankara.
I keept the look simple, classy, comfy and chic and wore it with less accessories opting for matching pumps, handheld bag and little drop earrings ready and ready for a business day.
What do you think of this outfit? where else can it be worn to? Would you wear it? If so, why not visit your tailor to make yours with items from your wardrobe.
Meanwhile dare to live your most desired and deserved lives. Would love to see you again next post.
