WANT TO OWN THE TASSEL STATEMENT EARINGS? WHY NOT DIY

Hi Go-gethers,

And welcome back,

Are you lusting over the tassel ear piece trend like me? I’m a sucker for statement earings but apart from that, this oversized earrings has dominated style lately and I want to believe every fashion loving girl wants to own atleast one. So if you’ve wanted one but is still standing on the fence because of the price tag from most of the brands. Don’t worry, it’s pretty easy to DIY.

What you need;

  • Embroidery thread (got from the tailoring store)
  • Card wallet (can opt for credit card)
  • Pair of pin earrings (detached from my earrings)
  • Two Jump hooks
  • Pair of scissors

Place two strands of embroidery thread beside card wallet or debit card then wrap thread around it until you’ve got the volume you need

Hold the two strands of thread together and tie a tight double knot.

Note: Do not cut knotted thread off, just add to bundle to avoid loosening because of the slippery nature of the thread.

After knotting slide wrapped bundle off card wallet or debit card

Snip unknotted end with a scissors and trim a bit more to desired length

Bend tassel in half at the knotted point to form a loop then pick a reasonable length of thread and start wrapping tightly below the loop. Continue until you have a clean finish then tie a double knot to make sure it’s secure and as usual do not cut off, just add to the bundle

Fix your jump hook and pin earrings at the top of your tassel and close the jump hook. And that is it, we are done.
